Current rain jackets keep the rain and wind out although, due to the build up of condensation inside the jacket, the user still gets wet. The Armadillo has been developed to address this issue. Vents, inspired by the scutes of an Armadillo, are located over the athletes key sweat and heat zones allowing cool air to flow into the jacket through front vents and the hot air to escape through adjustable back vents. The improved air circulation reduces moisture build up and helps athletes to customise their thermoregulation while wearing the Armadillo. The scutes allow the user the freedom of movement required when participating in sports.
