Kolumbus / toy

Kolumbus refers to the fact that children always collect little stuff like stones, nuts …Central point is a virtual game for children of 5 years up. It offers the possibility to 3D-scan the found objects, make virtual experiments and create an own virtual world from them. Therefore three products are made. A dragon shaped 3D-scanner, a data memory (the dragonŽs egg) and a touchscreen that forms the board to play on. Kolumbus is not designed as technical device but appears as toy, using wood and textile. Children can customize it and it is meant to show signs of usage. Kolumbus is a new way to deal with virtuality, to support childrensŽ growth
