Discipline: Product

This chair adapts the motive of the traditional Shinto shrine archway, the Torii, an archetype of Japanese esthetics. The straight legs carrying the characteristic backrest convey the presence and strength of the Torii and, at the same time, give an impression of subtlety. A product belonging to the “KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD” collection, which is aiming to solve environmental concerns and realize sustainable manufacturing through revitalizing Japanese forestry by utilizing domestic hardwood as its major material.
