The concept is a four legged, steam powered planting robot. The legs reduce the pressure on the forest floor, and allow the machine to be smaller while still being able to move though tough terrain. The machine prepares the planting spot in an environmentally friendly way by using hot steam to kill competing vegetation. The robot is powered by a steam engine, fuelled by forestry waste, such as pellets or wood chips. It also features a hydraulic system using water instead of oil. The seedlings are planted with a protective barrier made of biodegradable plastic, which protects the seedling from bugs without the use of toxic insecticides.
