The traditional irons have its hot soleplate exposed even when not in use, which makes it prone to accident of burn for clothes or hands. Iron 2.0 is designed to heat the soleplate only when the iron is in use. The soleplate stays cool until the user grabs the handle to prevent accidental burns. Even if you place the iron on your clothe by mistake, it will not burn the fabric. Iron 2.0s hot plate descends down to the soleplate to conduct heat only when the user grabs the handle. Upon releasing the handle, the hot plate is disconnected from the soleplate. Then, the heat is released through the duct and the soleplate quickly cools down.
