Aard is an attempt to try and make public areas' wind and solar power generators more aesthetic and simple in design. It aims to be an integrated part of the urban environment that surrounds it.
The Aard consists of eight (8) three dimensional solar cells that each make for a 1/8th of a ball shape. Each of these parts have their own axis around which they can revolve, making the ball open up and spin when a breeze of wind blows. When the weather calms down again the ball is closed by the springs attached to each of the axles.
Aard is designed to be a simple and thoroughly easy to use product that becomes an interesting detail of the landscape.
