This design is a resolution for senior elders in solving their key inserting difficulty. Inserting key into a key hole is a motion requires agile and stable movements. However, the elders suffer from visual and movement acuity decreasing, this daily routine has became a difficult event for them to complete. Our design focuses on the concept of universal design that applied movement orientation and space coordination enhancement for key inserting.
Design features include:
(1)In order to enhance the movement orientation, we refined the key hole with additional enlarged cylinder housing, the larger alignment area makes the key inserting much easier.
(2)To assist the visual orientation, we added a circular LED light surround the lock part, which helps the elders find the initial lock position, also provides a light source under lowlight environment.
