AISA / Public facilities

AISA is a warning system for use at dangerous alley crossroads where vehicles and pedestrians often collide. Statistics of car accidents in Korea for a five-year period from 2003 indicate that over forty per cent of victims were pedestrians who were walking in alleys, and most of them were children and senior citizens. AISA is a safety system designed for use at alley crossroads or crosswalks where there is no footpath and a high potential for accidents. The system uses a sensor camera to recognise when a pedestrian (or bicycle) and a car are approaching the crossroads from different alleys, and provides an alert to each moving object.
