In this novel design, tri-helical static mixers are installed in a traditional heat exchanger. Plate fins on the outside of inner tube are also considered for this creative design. The tri-helical static mixer in this design utilizes the flow characteristic inside the inner tube of heat exchanger to enhance heat transfer rate. In addition, heat transfer is increased with additional plate fins outside of inner tube. The heat transfer enhancement is estimated no less than 30%. This product can be used in refrigeration, air-conditioning, and other industries.
