The entry is a work of a project named Emergency Housing which was initiated by Formens Hus in Hällefors, Sweden in 2008. The aim for it is to design a new generation of transitional housing solutions that provide safe and human dignifying living conditions for citizens who have lost their homes in natural disasters.
The shelter has a hexagonal shape due to the inherently energy efficient structure of a hexagon, which means less consumption of wall material per living area. It provide a smart solution for shelter which is easy to build and transport. It also offers many possibilities to divide the space into different areas, and easily connected to other hexagons in different constellations which makes the shelters customizable.
