Sommelier Jan P. Marxen from Kiel is an unconventional thinker. He has his own very individual views on the enjoyment of wine and challenges classic criteria. So it is hardly surprising that the first champagne from Marxen takes an approach characterized as much by idiosyncrasy as it is by quality. Kiels maritime setting provided the inspiration for Marxens first champagne: champagne for naming ships. The packaging design emphasizes the functional character of the product. It follows the tradition of the minimalist corporate design of Marxen as a brand, which always elevates content over form. As a finishing touch, the champagne comes with a rope for the ship naming, and a leaflet containing directions for ship-naming ceremonies.
