During the 2008 European Football Championships, Migros Zurich built and ran the Family Park, a leisure and entertainment platform displaying a unique architectural language, designed by Bellprat Associates AG. When almost all other corporate offerings during these championships meant public viewing, the Family Park offered public doing! The area which covered 5,000 m² was conceived as a theme park, offering sports and fun activities for the young and their parents alike. 8,000 wooden transport pallets were used to create a unique and ephemeral setting, only to be taken down after the one month event and be put back to use as everyday transport tool.
