Go:Green is a renewable energy assisted ferry [wind and sun] with gas engines for short sea shipping in the Mediterranean. It is a high efficiency and environmentally friendly ship capable of competing with road traffic.
Many improvements like the efficient propulsion system or the slender hull provide a 28% reduction of fuel consumption and a reduction of 70% in environmental costs and impacts. Twelve wing sails contribute to the vessel’s propulsion. The Fuel consumption of the ship is also reduced by solar panels on wing sails and upper deck as well as by an innovative lighting system channeling sunlight to internal spaces with optic fibers
