Prosthetic Chicago / Urban Agriculture

Prosthetic Chicago

What if we have to reduce our food consumption footprint? What if farmland nutrients are depleted? What if agrichemicals are outlawed? What if we have to make a more efficient use of land zoning? What if water were harnessed more efficiently? What if agriculture happened in the city?
The application is a culmination of the combination between greenhouse conditioning, hypronic growing systems, and our cities. The average American meal travels on average 1,500 miles before it gets to the diner's plate. Now, certain foods travel on average of 14 feet to the diner’s plate.
