Driving through Germany you discover places called Rome, Texas or Jerusalem. For my degree I drove through Germany to find out why these places have the names they do. I illustrated the stories I was told as posters which can be unfolded. The storytellers themselves are at the centre of the poster. Their characters and dialects give the regions their unique feel. I created eleven posters held together in a slipcase. From the outside it resembles a picture frame. The stories on the posters are transcribed in the original voice of the storytellers. This way the reader gets a better sense of the person who tells the story.
