eclipse / clock

This clock design only has hands but no dial plate.usually dial plate serve as a foil to clock hands,we read time from contrast,but this design idea reverse the relationship between hands and dial,use the hand as a dial.and it leave the dial plate out, save the most material of a clock.

The inspiration comes from the the Eight Diagrams of ancient china,analyse all things in dialectic ways,the relationshipe of Yin and Yang,and they adaptive each other while they are also contrary at the same time.
