Velavis is a relatively new locomotion concept which is the result of a liaison between a recumbent bike and a powered paraglider. It combines the advantages of each of this differing means of transportation and offers a new dimension of mobility and independence to its pilot.
The Velavis enables the ambitious hobby pilot to use the same vehicle as well in the air as on the ground and provides the opportunity for the pilot to stay mobile even after landing. During flight a small e-motor is used for propulsion. At the ground the Velavis is used as a normal recumbent bike with an articulated steering which is controlled by weight shifting.
