«souvenear» is a recording and archiving device for acoustic souvenirs intended for visually handicapped people.
The two-piece audio device consists of a portable recorder for acoustic snapshots and a console to archive soundfiles. The recorded sound is transmitted to the console through a slot. The navigation in the soundarchive works by touching along a slightly lifted line on the console. The integrated GPS allows a chronological and geographical classification. The registration of the files is also possible by speech recognition and key words.
