Cities and places evoke certain sensual impressions forming strange or familiar images in our mind. Which factors do shape our subjective perception of urban spaces? Which role do infrastructural aspects, predominant colours and architecture play? Photographs of different cities and varying typography serve as an approach to the unknown as they reproduce the respective character. Exhibition, catalogue and sound collages communicate visual and acoustical impressions while scientific text sections and quotations provide further background information. Several media offer thus individual access to a sensual experience of the unknown urban space.
