The Harmony / winter coat

The Harmony
The Harmony

People have some stereotypes about Eastern traditional culture, seen as difficult. The gap between lives and traditional cultures becomes wider. Thus I suggest a brand new harmony between modernity and cultural traditionalism through the use of shapes and colors. Four graceful, grand plants (plum, orchid, mum and bamboo) were selected as the representative patterns, dyed into the cloth using stencils. Stereotypical images can be broken down by wearing it and seeing it worn. A sense of closeness to Eastern cultures can be developed while a realization that Eastern traditional culture is flexible, playful yet still full of richness emerges.
