IKARUS / wax lamp

IKARUS
IKARUS

IKARUS- The lamp as a symbolic victim

Electricity is something endless, ordinary, invisible and precious, which needs to be visualised.

The cone-shaped lamp IKARUS is made of 98% wax and an internally and externally located construction made from stainless steel and a steel cable which holds and stabilises the lamp.
A light is centrally situated inside the lamp and causes the wax to melt as a result of the warmth produced so that over the course of time the lampshade will liquefy from the inside to the outside and will reform itself on the surface below.
