What would be the most ideal way to organize objects?
My guess is that the shape of objects leads the users intuition to either stack or to place objects next to others.
As one of the most obvious examples, people commonly store tapes by stacking one on top of another. When one stacks similar sized tapes, it could be also used as storage for other office supplies.
From this behavior study, I raised the fiber ring of an adhesive tape. This redesign would not only highlight the stacking system but also provide more secure joining system.
