Ritual procession troupes are characteristic of traditional Taiwanese cultural heritage and are performed for the ‘’Matsu’’ that presented worshippers had strong faith during the birth festival. Various arrays of performances expand the existing artistic horizons for the troupes. All troupes costumed characters of folk performance troupes carry different weapons and costumes distinctively. In fact, there is no singing at all in performance and presents as dance, gesture and face painting with Chinese classical music. Music is very important to the performance and was created by musicians who played typical Chinese musical instruments.
