a new exhibition and memorial concept for the former jewish school of gardening and place of deportion during the second world war in ahlem, hanover.
like layers of earth the different layers of history of a site lie one above the other. intersections and contrast develop which complete or delimit each other. where we find contrasts we will also find crossings. twilight zones which seem to be neither one nor the other. this is the basis for the room concept of the memorial which is reflected in the design of the interior and the materials.
