Vértil / Configurable Bench

The object is a modular, configurable bench, inspired by a serpent’s vertebrae. Made of units of a single kind that can be fitted to one another, there is no size limit. Thus, the production in injected plastic is very easy, requiring only one mold. The movement between the units gives the user the possibility of arranging the object in many different ways. A layer of elastomer on the external surface makes the bench more comfortable and increases the friction with the floor. The organic and arched shape of the bench combines maximum structuring with minimal material, just as with bone structures. This offers flexibility and lightness.
