UKIYO / Panic disorder aid

UKIYO
UKIYO

Ukiyo is a smart jewel for symptom control of panic disorder. Ukiyo acts on the two main symptoms of panic attack: palpitation and shortness of breath. To break the circle of anxiety, that triggers the attack, the device shifts the perception of one's beating towards a fake heart that beats at a lower frequency, using the principle of the rubber hand illusion. For this, Ukiyo acquires the user's heart rate via a PPG sensor and simulates the heartbeat through lights and vibrations.
To avoid nighttime panic attacks triggered by high concentrations of CO2 in the air, Ukiyo is equipped with a sensor that detects CO2 levels beyond certain limits.
