We designed Alate, a mobile kaleyard to make the residents’ life more convenient for Weifang, one of the neighborhoods in Shanghai. Alate could serve as a mobile stall selling vegetables during epidemic and hold small-scale community activities to encourage the elderly to socialize. Its route was made according to the people flow.
As a mobile public activity space, Alate could also enrich residents’ lifestyle in post-pandemic era. Not only it could run in the neighborhood, but also it could go to the square nearby and become a small exhibition space. Lengthening its life, enriching its target users and enlarging its influence is our wish.
