Silicone cups might sound eco-friendly, but some inconveniences do exist. For example, the unpleasant smell of silicones when drinking, the smell of drinks attached to the cups, and the fact that it's impossible to repair. Hence, ORU is designed to tackle the problems with the Lids wheel. By switching from silicone to low-impact material like PET, the smell issue can be solved while redesigning the shape allows ORU to offer the same level of flexibility. On top of that, by applying the modular design strategy, each part of ORU can now be replaced or repaired, which means no more throwing-away-the-whole-cup.
