ArchiCom / Human Rights Documentation

ArchiCom
ArchiCom

ArchiCom researched the precarious condition of archives of human rights held by NGOs in Colombia, documenting over forty years of violence. ArchiCom then carried out detailed consultations with archival experts in order to design a toolkit especially tailored to their needs, comprising: a) tools for everyday handling and urgent threats, e.g. heat, dust, humidity; b) a mobile, lockable, steel storage unit to mitigate risks of fire, flood and relocations; c) an interactive, illustrated manual translating specialist knowledge into clear, digestible guidance for amateurs preserving highly sensitive, confidential material with few resources.
