Last Mile Learning / Remote Learning in Crisis

The Covid 19 crisis threatens to undo promising progress and exacerbates educational deficits of the most marginalised children who lack access to education, especially online. In response, Street Child in Nepal has launched a learning programme to accelerate literacy and numeracy learning in low-resource settings through recorded-, printed- and phone-assisted instructions that rotate among communities, using solar-powered Bluetooth speakers to reach as many children as possible at once. The programme meets Street Child’s two core goals – to educate and to protect –it’s cost-effective, scalable and easy to replicate in different contexts.
