Many Peruvian women, especially those living in rural villages, are stuck in strict gender roles and have no financial independence. A woman’s role is in the home: she must care for the children, keep the house and cook the meals. She relies on her husband’s income and has to ask for permission for every expenditure.
Our program aims to change that, by helping women to set up their own businesses. We provide the materials, training, and support needed for women to run their own guinea pig raising businesses. They can run their business from home, without letting other responsibilities slide, promoting financial independence and stability.
