PlusMinus / Medical Device Concept

Introducing new workflows to medical professionals often entails neglecting protocols they spent years practicing. Building on existing methods and procedures instead, by exploring common workflows in respect to hip replacement surgery allows for enhancement of such Leg Length Discrepancy evaluation methods. One surgical method was observed, during which the surgeon or circulating nurse will centre the patient’s feet, apply pressure to the heels and try to evaluate the discrepancy by feeling. PlusMinus is designed to enhance this assessment by providing quantified output through precision position sensing and feedback on force exertion.
