Seeds of Hope - Seed Bank Project / Biodiversity and Climate Change

The Local Seed Bank (LSB) project is a long-term strategic plan to assure stable food security for small-scale farmers living in marginalized areas in Palestine. The core of the SB's work is providing the rural people with a sustainable source of income, since the loss of local seed production is undermining small-scale agriculture and the food security. LSB has a significant achievement in decreasing Palestinian farmers' vulnerability to climate change enabling them to produce local seeds and achieve food sovereignty
LSB was able to create a social bank that saves 70% of of the food basket for the benefit of 1200 vulnerable farmers annually.
