PROJECT TAKE CHARGE / Medical support

The project TAKE CHARGE aimed at equipping members of less-endowed communities in Benin City, Nigeria, with blood pressure monitoring devices.

Hypertension is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in Nigeria, with an average prevalence of over 30%. Most sufferers become aware of their high blood pressure status only when hospitalised for one of its irreversible complications.

In the selected community, we trained one individual in every other house on how to measure blood pressure, and presented all trained persons( take charge ambassadors) with bp monitors and spare batteries.
