Metamorphose – Bauen im Bestand

Magazine

The redevelopment and modernisation of historical environments is a subject that has been receiving a great deal of attention in architectural journals for quite some time. In the last few years in particular, this area has developed from being a side issue to a central component in the debate on architecture and urban development. The Konradin-Verlag in Leinfelden has responded to this growing interest by launching “Metamorphose”: the first specialist magazine dedicated exclusively to this subject. Editors and designers cooperated closely in developing the magazine. Their goal was to find a suitable layout to support the direction taken by the magazine’s content. The reporting in “Metamorphose” places particular value on the different viewpoints of all those involved in the entire building project process, and these are examined from different perspectives. This is why, in addition to the dedicated sections, subjective, opinion-based project reporting is a strong focus. A short profile introduces key facts and the people involved in each project. An info box provides information about the author, thus underscoring the importance given to individual authors in the publication.
