UN-PLUGGED / UVEX / electric vehicle recharging solar car cover


Uvex is a car cover, consisting of a series of solar panels, demonstrated in, generating energy which feeds directly into the vehicle’s energy storage. For preventative measures the cover will be locked down by a security hook at the nose of the vehicle and the retraction of the cover is managed by a motorised roll-up system.
The designed system, exists as a separate, plug-in addition, to the existing vehicle energy management system. The energy generated from the solar panels is translated by a DC-DC converter and managed by a Charge Controller in order to protect the vehicle energy system and battery from overcharging or reverse current.
