Butzenfänger

Discipline: Communication

Discipline: Communication

“Butzenfänger.” This word awakens curiosity, but in the terminology of the printing technology it is understood as a device to keep dust and dirt away from the printing plate. Therefore the “Butzenfänger” is the last opportunity to avoid evil printing mistakes. Such mistakes are often well hidden and can only be spotted with the linen tester. Even with the one hair in the soup, the needle in the haystack, a plant louse on a petal or one single gray hair this book isn’t supposed to be faultless, since even without the printer’s assistance, flaws and mistakes creep onto the paper.
