In sub-Saharan regions, many breastfeeding mothers who are HIV-positive can transmit HIV to their babies through breast milk. Infants with HIV usually have difficulty surviving to adulthood. We have developed a breast milk filter that kills the HIV virus in breast milk through a silver ion filter layer. This approach can ensure that the child can drink breast milk without being infected.
