Universal design is not a fad or a trend but an enduring design approach that originates from the belief that
the broad range of human ability should be the standard, not the exception. In this respect the design of the Universal Toilet accommodates people with disabilities, older people, children and others who are non-average in a way that is not stigmatizing and benefits all users. Other than this it can be realized on the same space as a conventional toilet, which presents a great economic advantage to architects and property developers.
