The original concept of the washbasin lay in collecting water. However, people today do not use this function anymore. As the faucet is fixed permanently, the washbasin is used as an interface for water. With Soerkl we are asking an old concept a question of principle, thus breaking new ground within the design of the bathroom.
Soerkl unsnares itself from the archetypical form and extends the possibilities of conventional wash-basins since it is shaped openly and offering a number of special features. With its changing levels and its barrier-free interior it even serves small children and physically handicapped people.
