The global population is still growing. More and more people are living in cities. The consequences are an enormous shortage of living spaces on one hand and a dramatically increasing emotional distance of humans and nature on the other. This leads to the loss of an awareness for nature as well as a loss of the knowledge about nature. Spending time with nature is like an antidote to the stressful and sometimes toxic urban lifestyle. For this reasons and due to the increasing need of healthy food, the "take root" initiative was born, a building kit for an urban network of community-gardens, which act locally but have a global impact.
