iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD_01 2021

The AUTBON project developed a sustainable corn farming kit that contributes to achieving the zero-hunger SDG. Designed to solve food problems for small farms in Congo, Africa, the corn farming package is made of sustainable, eco-friendly paper. All components of the kit are designed to be reused for other purposes. Corn is a relatively high-yield crop, which aims to contribute to the zero-hunger goal by providing small farms with proper corn seeds and information on the right farming methods.

This is a very nice design solution and a good concept. It needs some more thought on the motivation of users, who may prefer immediate food support to the long-term solution.
Jury-Statement
Working on this project was a meaningful time to think deeply about the lives of our neighbors elsewhere on Earth, and especially to think about what the goal of zero-hunger meant to us and them. We are deeply grateful to the iF DESIGN TALENT AWARDS jury for giving us the courage to continue considering the sustainable lives of our neighbors and to put these ideas into practice as designers. Thanks also to Prof. SungHee Ahn for giving us such valuable design advice.
