The Pupa is an inclusive swing designed to be used by children of all abilities. Presenting a new concept of inclusion and equitable integration within the school environment, despite any disability the user may have. The idea is to bring children together, confront ableism and teach them to empathize with others.
Our proposal is to create opportunities for children to play together, learn about each other and respect differences, promoting a safe way to explore and experience joy. Therefore, the design of its’ shape is inspired by butterflies’ cocoons symbolizing protection and transformation during the developmental phase until adulthood.
