HP reinvented its entry iPAQ handheld by blending mobile lifestyle needs with market proven PDA excellence. The new design uses a continuous high gloss metallic skin balanced with a rubberized concave “activity zone” to convey both approachable luxury and tactile richness. Within the “activity zone” the traditional PDA buttons still exist, but now take on a secondary role as media functions become primary. Traditional PDA navigation was replaced with a jog wheel to better address menu driven digital content. The new landscape orientation was a key change as this media rich device moves further from PDA towards entertainment.
