LifeHive / Wearable Device for Elders'' Fall Protection

Aging is the hallmark of 21st century, while fall injuries are a major threat to the elders. We invented a novel wearable device for active fall protection. In case of a risky stumble, the cushion system is quickly unfolded to protect the fragile hip femur and lower spine. Unlike the conventional airbag-based cushion design, our foldable beehive-like structure which can be easily folded back and use again. Inspired with origami, we ingeniously hide a sizable hive in an ultra-slime space, and can bloom like a flower instantly. This simple design provides a safer solution for fall protection and is more economical and light-weighted as well.
