AYA NIAC Project / An acua-aeroponic food system

AYA is an aqua-aeroponic system for sustainable food production. It is a modular, autonomous, and integrated system of aquaponics and aeroponics, which produces animal and vegetable biomass synergetically. Therefore, it has the potential to feed families in extreme situations, such as in refugee camps. Our prototype consists in a “aquaponic system(fish)”, and the other with plants “aeroponic system”. The first one works like a traditional aquaponics system that grows fish to produce water with nutrients. The nutrients are send to the nebulization system, which is a source of nutrients for plants and at the same time oxygen the water.
