TIP Global Health’s Aheza Program provides locally produced fortified porridge in Rwanda to those most at risk of malnutrition, including HIV positive pregnant women and children exposed to HIV. Malnutrition is both a cofactor in the progression of HIV disease and a consequence of HIV infection. However, a single serving of Aheza provides nearly 100% of the daily recommended quantities of micronutrients for children under 5 - preventing chronic malnutrition, strengthening the immune system, and improving cognitive development. Through TIP’s partners at health centers, we will distribute Aheza to more than 200 vulnerable families each month.
