Teaching is among the least aspirational career choices in India: 1 in 6 state school positions is vacant, creating a national deficit of more than 1 million secondary school teachers. Firki is a free, world-class online teacher education portal used by teachers, NGOs and International Foundations. We empower teachers by placing them at the centre of design, and support them with learning groups as avenues to grow and reflect. We have 74K+ users from 5 continents accessing 69 English courses from Behaviour Management Cycle to Integrating Art Into Education — with several translated into 5 Indian languages. We aim to reach 150K users by 2023.
