Sunbox Ambassadorship / Youth Empowerment

Sunshine Cinema is a solar-powered media distribution network that adopts a two-fold approach to tackling social problems through the development of positive community-driven narratives and using African cinema as a means of raising under-represented voices. We empower youth in rural and communities to become Sunbox Ambassadors trained in media facilitation. By screening locally produced content and hosting workshops we use film to spark conversation. This dialogue fosters greater understanding within, and about communities, stimulates constructive debate, and encourages cooperation in the promotion of human rights.
