DOM_US: a shared space / discrimination, housing, social cohesion, refugees

DOM_US wants to fight racial discrimination faced by refugees every day, becoming a serious threat and limitation to their fundamental right to housing. To address this problem, we developed a project offering one-year support for housing transition for economically-empowered young refugees, to move from reception facilities into independent houses. Besides finding a home, the project is designed to be a journey of personal responsibility, autonomy, social cohesion and socialization for a small group of young people. Our aim is to build successful relations with the neighborhood by creating the foundations for active citizenship.
